Trevor Vernon, Principal
Trevor has a hand in all things pertaining to design, graphics, and production, Always up for a challenge, Trevor plays soccer, rows competitively, and occasionally brings one of his sons or dogs to work for the day (we're not sure which provides the best workout!). These days Trevor and his wife concentrate on keeping their boys entertained.
Gene Walters, Principal
It's all about balance - and in Gene's case, that means balancing the books each month. When he's not hard at work, Gene likes to get out of town. Favorite spots include to Ocean Shores, Las Vegas, and Alaska, where he goes each year to fish for salmon. While Gene and his wife have two grown children, their nest in not completely empty. They still have Rusty the dog - the best fed, most pampered canine around (who do you think gets to eat all the fresh salmon that Gene catches?!)
Barbara Biggs, Sales Department
Barbara has been in the Yellow Pages business since 1982, having recently retired from Dex. Lucky for us, Barbara was lured out of retirement to join the Vernon team. A third generation Seattleite, she loves the Northwest and spending time visiting with small business owners all over the State. She also enjoys spending time with her son, Geoff, her two dogs, and working in her garden. In her free time, Barbara designs and makes jewelry (a talent appreciated by the ladies in the office who often wear her creations!)
Debbie Brickman, Office Manager
Debbie keeps the office running smoothly while wearing many different hats. Originally from Montana, she enjoys going back to visit friends in that wide-open country. Even though she often takes work home, she finds time to garden and spend time with her family.
Nikki Capellen, Winnemucca Sales
Nikki is the proud mother of two beautiful children; Carly 6 and Peyton 8. She enjoys spending time with her family, working in her yard, going out with friends, and of course--shopping.
Lisa Hilbish, Winnemucca Sales
Having been a previous business owner, Lisa is now enjoying her new career. She and her husband Travis have 3 daughters who keep them "very busy". Her family is very active in their Spanish Basque heritage and they enjoy learning about their ancestors. She most loves watching her children dance every summer at the annual Basque Festival in Winnemucca. Her other favorite things are her friends, being outdoors, a good barbeque and a great glass of red wine, ideally all together.
Roger Hunsperger, Sales Manager
Roger is the sales backbone of the Telephone Directory Division. He makes sure the staff is well trained and working hard. His passion is the outdoors, likes to fish, hike and tour around the Puget Sound waters with his wife on their "yacht".
Jerry Kagan, Sales Department
Jerry never leaves a stone (or a lead) unturned. He motivates the whole sales team to work harder! It is a wonder he has time to work since he also enjoys kayaking, sailing, rowing, bird watching, gardening and reading.
Margie Lewis, Sales Department
Margie is our resident bundle of energy. The proud grandma of 3 is never far from her family nor from a good conversation.
Robyn Logan, Sales Department
In addition to her lovely smile and sunny disposition, Robyn brings with her twenty years of experience in the business. She shares her home with her husband and son, as well as some four-legged friends. While pet lovers are the majority at Vernon Publications, Robyn's menagerie may take the prize - two dogs, two cats and usually a horse or two! Topping her "favorite things to do list" are watching her son play football and basketball, riding horses, gardening, and working on her house.
Kent McKeller, Sales Department
Kent is our quiet sales guy until the conversation turns to boating. As the former owner of a San Juan Island tour guide company, he is very knowledgeable in all marine facts.
Kathy Newman, Editor
As an English Major and avid reader, editing is a perfect fit for Kathy. She and her husband Don have two grown children who frequently stop by for a home made meal (a perfect example of her other passions - family and food!) Kathy's eclectic resume includes a stint as an Alaska Loggers radio operator and a cook on a seine boat. She jokes sometimes about not being sure what she'll be when she grows up. May we suggest a barista? (Considering her cappuccino habit, that might be the smartest way to go!)
Art Selhorn, Sales Department
Art considers service the most important part of his job. After 29 years, he's forgotten more about yellow page advertising than most people in the business know about the business. He is committed to giving his customers 100%. Maybe that is why he has been in the business so long.
Suzy Sickles, Sales Department
Suzy is a mother of five grown children, 3 boys and 2 girls. She enjoys cooking, singing and traveling with her family and her 2 grandsons.
Kerry Story, Sales Department
Kerry has managed to find enough hours in the day to be a full-time mom, wife, and salesperson. When she's not out in the field, you'll probably find her carving up some turns with her husband and two kids at Stevens Pass.
Janice Walters, Telephone Directory Coordinator
Janice is the taskmaster in the office. She insures the yellow page sales reps cross their T's and dot their I's. She has 2 grown children who still keep her busy. She loves to scrapbook, read and spend lots of time at the beach.
